Sonney, Topper and Schroeder to Unveil Bill Package to Reform PASSHE

WHAT: Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), chairman of the House Education Committee, will host a press conference to unveil a package of three bills designed to improve and reform the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

Bills in the package include:
House Bill 2171 (Sonney), which will reform the governance and accountability of PASSHE’s Board of Governors and the Councils of Trustees.
House Bill 2172 (Rep. Jesse Topper, R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton), which will make needed financial and legal reforms to PASSHE.
House Bill 2173 (Rep. Meghan Schroeder, R-Bucks), which will make needed reforms to streamline reporting and clarify and update statutory language.

WHO: Sonney, Topper, Schroeder, PASSHE Chancellor Daniel Greenstein and Cynthia Shapira, chair of PASSHE’s Board of Governors.
