House Judiciary Committee to Hold Voting Meeting June 22
WHAT: Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) will hold a House Judiciary Committee meeting to vote on the following bills:
•
House Bill 1534 relates to the disposition of relatively small amounts of a decedent’s property. The bill adds lineal descendants to the list of specific individuals who may seek to recover unclaimed property (less than $11,000) after a relative dies as a resident of Pennsylvania.
•
Senate Bill 411 is a comprehensive bill formalizing in statute the consolidated operations of the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole.
•
Senate Bill 81 would amend the Judicial Code to expand the list of offenses whereby an expert may testify in sexual and domestic assault cases.
•
Senate Bill 516 would amend the Judicial Code to provide that if a defendant fails to appear for a court-ordered financial determination hearing, the court may turn the defendant’s delinquent account over to a private collection agency or the county’s collection enforcement unit.
