Schmitt Sworn In to Third Term Representing the 79th District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Altoona) took the oath of office in Harrisburg today to begin his third term representing residents of the 79th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives.
“As we start the new 2023-24 session, I look forward to continuing to be the voice of residents of the district,” Schmitt said. “We enter the new session in uncharted territory. Yet I hope representatives from both sides of the aisle can work together to address the issues at hand to make Pennsylvania an even better place to live and work.”
Schmitt said he will continue to stand up for the ideals of residents in Blair County, holding the line on spending and protecting taxpayers.
The 2023-24 session brings changes to the 79th Legislative District. Schmitt moved to a new office in downtown Altoona located at 2301 Beale Ave., Suite A. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the phone number remains 814-946-7218.
In addition, and due to redistricting, the new 79th Legislative District now includes Altoona, Tunnelhill Borough, and Logan and Allegheny townships.
