Marcell Concerned Shapiro Budget Depletes Reserves, Rainy Day Fund
3/7/2023
HARRISBURG—Rep. Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) released the following statement on Gov. Josh Shapiro’s $45.8 billion budget proposal.

“While I look forward to working with the governor to pass a fiscally responsible commonsense budget, how we get there is critical. The governor’s plan to deplete our budget reserves and the Rainy Day Fund is concerning. With economists projecting an economic slowdown, if not a recession, it is imperative we preserve these funds to manage any revenue shortfalls.”

Marcell serves on the House Appropriations Committee, which will consider the Shapiro budget and must approve any proposed budget before it’s passed by the full House.
