Barrar, House Committee to Vote on Resolution to Benefit Sept. 11 Victims

WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will hold a committee meeting to vote on two resolutions and a bill:

• House Resolution 343 would urge Congress to pass the 9/11 Victims Compensation Act with funding through 2090. The act compensates individuals for illnesses and deaths due to exposure to toxins at the Sept. 11 attack sites.
• House Resolution 247 would urge Congress to facilitate the VA Mission Act, which requires reforms in the VA medical care system by authorizing the VA to enter into community provider agreements relating to Department of Military and Veterans Affairs facilities.
• Senate Bill 589 would create the College Tuition Grant Program for the spouse or children of Pennsylvania National Guard members who reenlist for an additional six years.
