Deana's Law
Nov. 17, 2021 / Embed
Deana’s Law advances to the Senate. Listen to my remarks just before the vote on PA State Rep. Chris Quinn's bill. Deana was killed by a drunk driver who had 5 previous DUIs. He spent less than one year in prison total for his 3rd, 4th and 5th DUIs - all served at one time. The head-on collision happened in Upper Chichester (just outside our district), which makes this a moment of tragedy and responsibility in our community.

Fighting Pancreatic Cancer

Nov. 18 is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, with November as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. These observances are incredibly important to raise awareness of this third deadliest cancer. Its high mortality rate is due to a lack of detectable symptoms during its early stages. This day is set aside to shine a light on pancreatic cancer and share our universal message to be aware of the symptoms.
Rep. Oberlander sponsored a citation, requested by the Alliance of Families Fighting Pancreatic Cancer and Templeton resident Theresa Dukovich, to mark this observance and especially to honor the brave men and women fighting this disease, to remember those who have died from it and to celebrate its survivors and caregivers.
