Ryan's House Bill 1836 Advances

The House Judiciary Committee advanced my legislation to further define the offense of torture as it relates to children. House Bill 1836 is included in a package of bills in memory of 12-year-old Maxwell Shollenberger of Annville, who died last year after being tortured, neglected and murdered by his father, Scott Schollenberger, and his fiancé Kimberly Mauer.

Mackenzie Supports House Bill 1736

Legislation sponsored by Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh) that would address the troubling issue of mugshot websites was approved by the House Judiciary Committee and sent to the full House for consideration. House Bill 1736 would make it a crime in Pennsylvania to publish or disseminate booking photographs (mugshots) for commercial use. Mackenzie spoke in support of his bill during the meeting.
