Since June, House Republicans have been standing firm for students and families, demanding a compromise on funding for state-related universities. On Oct. 31, those efforts finally came to fruition when the House voted to approve funding for the universities after a pledge tuition would be frozen for the academic year. The tuition freeze, coupled with the House passage of House Bill 1556 to increase transparency for state-related universities, is a victory for students, families and taxpayers alike.
