WHAT: The lack of access to broadband is a major problem in rural communities across central Pennsylvania, and is negatively impacting local economies, educational opportunities, health care treatment options and more. That is why Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), together with Reps. Adam Harris (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) and Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Centre/Mifflin), is holding a roundtable discussion on the topic this Thursday in Lewistown.
The purpose of the roundtable is to bring advocates, from a variety of perspectives and motivations, together in one room for a meaningful, productive discussion on the current obstacles to broadband access and how to work together to find solutions.
WHO: Attendees will include representatives from federal, state and local government; school districts, technical schools and other educational institutions; regional hospitals and health care providers; agriculture; small businesses and economic development groups; community leaders; and impacted residents.
WHEN: Thursday, July 12, from 3-5 p.m.
WHERE: Mifflin County Annex Building, 101 West Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044
