WHAT: Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) will hold a House Judiciary Committee meeting to vote on House Bill 881, which proposes an emergency amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution to provide for a two-year window in which civil lawsuits alleging childhood sexual abuse may be filed in court notwithstanding any otherwise applicable statute of limitations defense. This bill would correct the Department of State’s mistake when it failed to advertise the referendum per law earlier this year, thus striking it from being included on the May election ballot.

Other bills that will also be voted on by the committee, include:
   • Senate Bill 84, which would amend the County Code to provide for succession in the Office of District Attorney.
   • Senate Bill 85, which would amend the Second Class County Code to provide for succession in the Office of District Attorney.
   • Senate Bill 86, which would amend Title 53 (municipalities generally) to provide for succession in the Office of District Attorney.
   • Senate Bill 87, which would provide for enhanced penalties for child pornography and establish a Task Force on Child Pornography.

WHO: Kauffman and members of the House Judiciary Committee.

WHEN: Monday, March 15, at the call of the chair.

WHERE: G-50 Irvis Office Building, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg.
