HARRISBURG – This week, Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) announced that he will serve as a Deputy Chair of the House Majority Policy Committee during the 2015-16 legislative session.

“It is an honor to have been selected to serve as a deputy chair of the Policy Committee, as the work it does is very relevant to our state’s future,” Kaufer said. “I am looking forward to have the opportunity to assist with legislative initiatives that will be focused on in the House throughout the coming year.”

The committee travels across the state, conducting hearings and roundtable discussions about important issues to gather testimony and information from key stakeholders. Kaufer will attend these hearings and work with his colleagues in the House Republican Caucus to develop policies to address those issues.

“Representative Kaufer has a deep knowledge on a variety of legislative issues currently being focused on, including welfare and public pension reform, addiction services, business policy and gaming issues,” said Policy Committee Chairman Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin). “We are looking forward to gaining a lot from his insight.”
