HARRISBURG – State Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) continues to push to find additional financial support for the Pennsylvania Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) which is used for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
“As chairs of the House Children and Youth Committee, Rep. Pam DeLissio (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) and I are always looking for creative ways to fund programs that support children in Pennsylvania while not imposing any obligation or burden on taxpayers,” said Delozier. “Adding the language from our
House Bill 2437 as it passed the House earlier this year as an amendment to
House Bill 1486, gives Pennsylvanians who are renewing their driver’s license or identification card the option to make a $5 charitable donation to the CTF. This arrangement can benefit both children and donors in the Commonwealth.”
House Bill 1486 as amended had final passage Wednesday, and is now headed to the governor’s desk for his signature.
Charitable contributions shall be used by the CTF board exclusively for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. PennDOT must then annually report the contributions made to the Pennsylvania Treasurer who then transfers the contributions to the Children’s Trust Fund. PennDOT will also include the address of the Children’s Trust Fund to individuals who wish to make additional contributions.
