HARRISBURG - Rep. Joe Adams (R-Pike/Wayne) took the oath of office Tuesday to begin his first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“I am excited to be sworn into Pennsylvania’s General Assembly. I take this honor very seriously and I will work hard, every day, for the people of the 139th District to provide opportunities for them and for our future generations. I will make sure their voices are heard, and their interests are represented in Harrisburg,” Adams said.

Adams looks forward to beginning his legislative career serving the area where his family roots go back five generations in Wayne County. He is a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Scranton, where he also received his MBA, and the CFP Curriculum Certificate at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. Prior to his election, he retired from Corporate Money Management Business after 15 years as a senior executive, then retired as superintendent from Western Wayne School District in 2017, followed by six years of service as a Wayne County commissioner.

The 139th Legislative District is comprised of parts of Pike and Wayne counties, consisting of the townships of Blooming Grove, Dingman, Greene, Lackawaxen, Milford, Palmyra (Pike), Shohola, Westfall, Cherry Ridge, Dreher, Lake, Lehigh, Paupack, Palmyra (Wayne), Salem, South Canaan and Sterling;, and the boroughs of Matamoras, Milford and Hawley.
