HARRISBURG – Rep. Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) announced today that she has been appointed to serve as the Republican Secretary of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee.
The Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee focuses on the needs of Pennsylvania’s first responders and veteran community and works to keep all Commonwealth residents safe.
“Taking good care of our vets and first responders is the least we can do. I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve the people who give so much to the rest of us,” said Scialabba. “I thank Chairman Gillen for naming me to this role, and I look forward to working with him and my colleagues on how we can best serve those who go above and beyond for us.”
“As chairman, I am pleased to welcome Rep. Stephenie Scialabba as the new Republican Secretary to the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee,” said Gillen. “Her genuine passion for the veteran and first responder communities in our Commonwealth is evident and will play an integral role in advancing policy that supports the goals of the committee.”
Scialabba has been hosting monthly Veterans Outreach hours at her District Office where veterans and their families can receive help in obtaining benefits or navigating the process. Scialabba is also set to tour the County’s 9-1-1 system with Commissioners Leslie Osche, Kim Geyer and Kevin Boozel, along with other key components of the first responder base, in the coming weeks.
