HARRISBURG – Rep. Bud Cook (R- Greene/Washington) issued the following statement regarding July 1 arriving with no new state budget being passed.

“It is disappointing there is not a new state budget that has been passed on time. We as lawmakers must remain committed to doing the job of the people.

“We need a balanced budget where we don’t spend more than our projected revenues. If we did, that would be fiscally irresponsible.

“As we continue budget negotiations, we also need to avoid harmful energy taxes that would kill jobs in the 50th District and directly tax coal and natural gas power plants, which would force customers into higher energy bills.”
