State Reps. Arvind Venkat and Natalie Mihalek will join food safety advocates and other lawmakers in the Capitol main rotunda on Tuesday to push for passage of legislation that would make Pennsylvania’s restaurants safer for more than 1.3 million Pennsylvanians living with food allergies.
Venkat and Mihalek will discuss their H.B. 77, which would mandate changes in restaurants and other food retail facilities, which are the source of nearly half of all food allergy deaths.

I believe we should require explicit parental consent for everything outside the parameters of basic education. This is why I proposed an amendment to House Bill 681 on the floor of the House chamber. Unfortunately, my amendment failed on party lines.
