Pugh Calls on Department of Health to Reclassify Narcotic

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brenda Pugh (R-Luzerne) today announced that she has sent a letter to Dr. Debra Bogen, secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), urging the Commonwealth to prepare for prompt action should the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) finalize its proposed temporary Schedule I classification of 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH).

Brenda Pugh (R-Luzerne) is issuing the following statement concerning the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) proposed updates to strengthen oversight of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals,” in biosolids for farmlands, touting that their announcement highlights the importance of an issue she has been working on since first hearing concerns directly from Pennsylvania farmers.

Banta: Grapes Grown by Farmers Impacted by Sudden Market Change Will Now Feed Community

ERIE – Rep. Jake Banta (R-Erie) announced today $500,000 will be used in emergency funding to purchase, process and transport 350 tons of grapes from 11 Erie County growers whose contracts were terminated by Refresco earlier this year. Grapes purchased from these local family farms will be made into juice concentrate and distributed to Feeding Pennsylvania-member food banks through the Pennsylvania Agriculture Surplus System (PASS).
