HARRISBURG – In honor of National Rare Disease Day on Feb. 28, Reps. Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) and Mark Longietti (D-Mercer), as well as Sens. Judy Ward (R-Blair/Cumberland/Franklin/Fulton/Huntingdon) and John Blake (D-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Monroe) will serve as co-chairs for Pennsylvania’s Rare Disease Caucus for the 2019-20 Legislative Session.

Oberlander Asks PA Supreme Court to Keep Venue Rule

HARRISBURG – House Majority Policy Committee Chairman Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) said today the Pennsylvania Supreme Court should preserve a procedural court rule on venue that seeks to protect access to health care across the Commonwealth and asked the court to especially consider the harmful impact such a repeal could have on patients.

HARRISBURG – The House Judiciary Committee unanimously approved legislation sponsored by Rep. John Hershey (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) that would give victims the right to attend proceedings against their abusers unless the court determines that the victim’s testimony would be altered if he or she heard other testimony at the proceeding.
