Culver Examines Human Services Funding During Budget Hearing

Gov. Wolf is asking for a more than $3 billion increase in human services funding as part of his 2022-23 budget proposal. That is the largest proposed increase in any single line item. Justifying that increase was the focus of the March 9 House Appropriations Committee budget hearing with the Department of Human Services. During her line of questioning, state Rep. Lynda Culver (R-Northumberland/Snyder) dealt with support for managed care organizations, which is a very complicated issue.

Justifying that increase was the focus of the March 9 House Appropriations Committee budget hearing with the Department of Human Services. Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) asked the department about resources that are dedicated to help individual counties deal with problems like drug addiction and suicide prevention.
